Cancellation and Refund Policy
Who holds the ticket money, who refunds it, and what happens to your seat when a registration is cancelled.
Version v2 · In effect since Sep 21, 2026
1What applies today
This service does not yet process ticket payments. If an event charges, the money never passes through us: the registrant pays the organizer directly, by whatever means the organizer chooses, outside this service.
The consequence is simple and worth stating plainly: we cannot refund money we never received. Ticket refund requests go to the organizer of that event.
The sections below still apply now to what we do control — seats, tickets, and registration status — and will apply in full to money once payment processing goes live. This policy will be updated on that day, not after it.
2Who is responsible for what
| Matter | Who decides | Who you take it up with |
|---|---|---|
| The ticket price and its refund terms. | The event organizer. | The event organizer. |
| An event cancelled, postponed, or moved. | The event organizer. | The event organizer. |
| Ticket money already paid. | The event organizer, while payments are not processed by this service. | The event organizer. |
| Registration status, tickets, and seats. | The event organizer, through the panel we provide. | The event organizer; we help if the panel misbehaves. |
| Platform subscription fees you pay us. | Us. | Us. |
Organizers must state their own refund terms on the event page, before anyone registers. Terms that were never disclosed cannot later be used to refuse a refund.
3When the organizer cancels
When an organizer cancels a registration — one at a time or in bulk — the service does three things automatically:
- the registration status becomes cancelled;
- the seat returns to the event capacity and to its ticket tier, so it is available to someone else again;
- the ticket stops being valid and is refused by the scanner at the door.
If a whole event is cancelled, the organizer must tell their registrants and settle the money according to the terms they published and the consumer protection rules that apply.
4When the registrant cancels
Whether you may cancel a registration and get your money back is governed by the terms the organizer published on the event page, not by us.
Contact the event organizer. Their name and contact details are on the event page and in your ticket email. If the organizer agrees to the cancellation, they carry it out from the panel, and your seat returns to capacity automatically.
If you simply cannot attend and are not asking for money back, tell the organizer anyway. A seat released early is a seat someone else can use — and at a full event, that is the only way a waiting list moves.
5Seats, capacity, and holds
A seat is taken the moment a registration is submitted, not when payment or verification completes. That is deliberate: if seats were only taken after verification, two people could take the same last seat in the same second.
- An unverified seat is held for 30 minutes, then released automatically if verification does not finish.
- A verified seat counts as sold, and returns only through cancellation.
- A returned seat is immediately available to the next registrant; there is no priority queue and nobody can be moved ahead.
If a ticket tier sells out exactly as you press submit, your registration is refused with a clear message and no seat is held in your name. There is nothing to refund, because nothing was taken.
6Subscription fees you pay us
This section covers only fees you pay us as an organizer, not tickets.
- A subscription runs to the end of the period already paid for. Cancelling stops the next renewal; it does not cut the running period short.
- We do not pro-rate unused time, unless consumer protection rules where you are require otherwise.
- If the service was unreachable through our fault for a meaningful stretch of time, contact us; we will consider extending the subscription or refunding part of it in proportion to the outage.
- Billing errors — charged twice, or charged after cancelling — are refunded in full once established.
Send your request to info@yarnext.com with the invoice number. We reply within 5 working days, and approved refunds are returned to the original payment method within 14 working days.
7What will apply once we process payments
When payment processing goes live, the following will apply, and this policy will be updated before that function opens:
- the organizer still sets the refund terms for their event, and those terms must appear on the event page before anyone registers;
- refunds go back to the original payment method, never to a different account, because refunding to a different account than the one that paid is the oldest fraud route there is;
- gateway fees that the provider does not return will be stated openly, not deducted silently;
- an approved refund frees the seat in the same way an ordinary cancellation does.
8If you and the organizer disagree
We are not an arbitrator between registrants and organizers, and we cannot force an organizer to refund. What we can do, and do:
- pass your complaint on to the organizer;
- give you a copy of your own registration data, as evidence that you registered and when;
- act against organizers who repeatedly deceive their registrants, under the Acceptable Use Policy.
Send your complaint to info@yarnext.com quoting your registration reference number.
